Attitude in Interview

When you go for an interview which is for a job, do decide what approach you want to work with.
The choice is with you. It remains with you. Decide whether you Want this job or you Need this job. The answer to this will streamline many things for you. However, the NEED approach can force you to be more submissive about salary. In need we may adjust with a slightly weak profile which will demand more work. In the Want Category job you have LIKED the profile. To like the job and then developing willingness to get that will come to you only through Preparation.
Research about the Employers and their various aspects. Their SWOT must be the first thing to start with.

Draft a Script for Interview

We know that Interviews are 'naturally animated' and are controlled by the attitudes of both the parties. Interviewer and Interviewee develop this interaction and they can fail it as well. On our part, we need to be subtle, precise, honest and concrete.
Below are the points, discussed and worked-upon in the class:
  1. I am..... Followed by Service Info i.e. Mention Organisation,  Designation and Years of service and move on to share that you have worked in various capacities since the time you joined the force..mention two to four of these only through 2-3 words for each
  2. Depending on the nature of interaction, do add your educational qualification. Three sentences may be sufficient for three degrees/qualification
  3. Mention which skill of yours makes you the 'right' candidate for the offered job. This skill must have support from your service record.
  4. Prepare in advance- A couple of sentences about your core strength which reflects in your service record and is related to the company/offered profile.
  5. Prepare some sentences about your personal life- FAMILY I mean. Mention where the family is settled and move on to mention the members within 3-4 sentences.

More to discuss in the coming classes and Mock Interviews will continue...

All the Best!
